Senator Mark Spencer

Mark Spencer is a trusted leader with a passion to serve his community and state. Born and raised in Gary, Indiana, Mark is a longtime arts and theatre administrator. He is the founder of Gary’s West Side Theatre Guild and currently works as Director of Fine Arts for the Gary Community School Corporation.

From 2023-2024, Mark served as an at-large member of the Gary Common Council before being elected to the Indiana State Senate. He received his B.A. in Theatre from Indiana University, a B.S. in Education from Calumet College of St. Joseph, and a Master of Education degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. He currently resides in Gary, IN.
