Long-time Perry Township educator Terry Rice is dedicated to serving his community. As a public school teacher and president of the Perry Education Association, he is in touch with the needs and concerns of District 36.

Rice has been a Spanish teacher at Southport High School for over 30 years and is the chair of the foreign language department. He is also an adjunct faculty member at IUPUI, a board member of the Hoosier School Benefit Trust and a Perry Township Education Foundation board member.

For his efforts, Rice has been awarded the Indiana State Teachers’ Association Leadership Award and the Human Relations Award from the Metropolitan School District of Perry Township.

Rice and his wife Michele, also a teacher, have been married for 12 years. He has two children, Andrew and Sarah.
